Howard the Duck arrives as Pop #64 in Funko's Marvel line, giving the cigar-chomping, perpetually irritated cosmic waterfowl the stylized vinyl treatment. Created by Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik, Howard has bounced around the Marvel universe since the 1970s, from his own satirical solo title to Cleveland's least likely private-eye work, and he's stayed a favorite among readers who like their superhero comics with a streak of absurdity.
For collectors working through the Marvel numbering, this one sits in the earlier stretch of the line alongside the more expected heavy hitters, which is part of the appeal — a talking duck filed between gods and super soldiers. A fitting shelf pick for fans of Marvel's stranger corners.
